There are three things we need to relate to all of you.

1) There still seems to be some confusion as to how the checking account
must be titled. The current policy says all NEW checking accounts
started by NEW chapters must NOT include reference to GWRRA in any form
on the account ownership documents. Existing chapter DO NOT need to
change the ownership status of existing accounts.

2) The "Umbrella" program has NOT been continued by the current Region
staff. There is no need to report any of the activities that were
monitored under the umbrella program at this time. Chapters that are
interested in participating in the chapter of the year program should
complete the respective paperwork and may submit it to us via e-mail or
postal service. If you need our mailing address shoot us an e-mail and
we will respond.

3) As of current count we have 38 participants registered for the OCP
training in Decatur and we expect lots more! This is required training
for all current Directors, Assistant Directors, Rider Educators, and
Leadership Training Officers in all divisions of the organization.
These are the four "officer" positions within the structure. All
incoming officers will be required to have attended this training before
they can be installed as a functioning officer. Training is open to the
general membership and all are encouraged to take it. Now would be a
good time to get a room reserved if you are planning on staying
overnight. Don Janas is working on a location in the Chicago general
area and we are working on something for the lower third of the state.
None of these plans are firm as of right now! We'll do the best we can
but the Decatur event is the only confirmed and scheduled class as of
right now. You may attend the training course at a location of your
choice. If you reside within a reasonable driving distance from a class
in an adjoining District, by all means, ask to register at that
District's class. We plan on extending the same courtesy to them! The
Davenport Iowa class on February 20th and 21st is open to all who wish
to attend but we must inform you the motel says they have NO rooms
available. You may arrange rooms at other locations if you so choose.
