Illinois District M.A.D.

From the desk of the District M.A.D. Coordinator,

Illinois District
Motorist Awareness Division

We are Larry and Lorraine Kolling, the new kids on the block,. We have been married for 43 years. We have one daughter and son in law and three grand children. We are both retired but not tired yet. I have been riding motorcycles since 1976 they have been all Honda’s. First one was a 1975 CB360T, then came a 1984 GL1200 Interstate and now a 1997 GL1500 Aspencade with a 2007 Hannigan Trike Conversion.

I have been involved with the MAD program since it was started in the ILDistrict serving as Chapter Coordinator, then Southern Illinois Liaison and when asked to become Illinois District MAD Coordinator I accepted the challenge. I know I have some BIG shoes to fill, but I had a good teacher in Toney Buzick. I must congratulate Toney and Carol Buzick on their recent advancement to the Region E Staff. Lorraine and I have served in Chapter O as Assistant Chapter Director’s and then Chapter Director’s. Now this is a new challenge for us.

Like the saying goes IF IS’S NOT BROKE DON’T FIX IT. Illinois District MAD is one of the best in the GWRRA organization. There will be a lot of new things going to happen this year and when they are finalized we will all have a lot of fun. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the Winter Warm-up.
