Medic First Aid (M.F.A.)

From the desk of the District M.F.A. Coordinator,
2010 has started out to be good for the MEDIC FIRST AID program for the District. The winter months are always a good time to have these classes. Snow, cold keeps the majority of us off the bikes and indoors where it is nice and warm. There are those that venture out whenever possible, to get a small ride, weather permitting. The program as you know can be taught all year round though. It just keeps going like that bunny. You ever been around when someone has gone down with a heart attack or witnessed a bad accident? You may or may not choose to help, but, if you have the training to help, it gives you a good feeling to know that YOU can render aid to someone in need. Classes are given by great instructors who's number one goal is to instruct you in the Basic Plus class. To make sure that you know how to respond to an emergency situation if need be. Classes are taught in a relaxed atmosphere, with lots of "hands on" participation. Each class participant learns how to operate an AED, the CPR method and First Aid. Your instructors are there for questions and directions that you may have or need. Contact your Educator or myself for a class and we will set you up with Instructors. Have a class.
The state has had 3 classes so far this year, behind from what we had at this time last year. Tom & Beth Weltzer had a class in Polo with Chapter G, they had 17 participants. I do believe that they had or are having another class soon. Janet and I have done 2 classes. One was for Chapter I with 17 participants and another with Chapter H2 that also had 17 participants. 17, must be the going number this year. Schedule a class and let's have fun learning this lifesaving technique. Yes, my wife became an instructor this year and I am very proud of her.
